Formal interpretations

Normally I’m formal in my interpretation of SS
But my words are no longer dressed in their Sunday best
The double breast jacket, has had itself repossessed
Replaced with a fresh zest of informal dress
So… Is less more?… well I guess this is the test
If the answers yes, does that mean a vest shows finesse
assessing your assets, showing your lyrical success
And The skill you posses… either way I confess I don’t care
Progress isn’t a contest, or people being compared
One can be a millionaire, suit, tie and combed hair
The other wearing tears, but not caring if living’s unfair
Me, I share parts of the pair… why, well here goes
I started in SS to show I can compose straight flows
I rose to the top, then stopped and lost all the robes
Now my consecutive no shows pose no threat
I’m battling bounce, yet another vet that ive met
but I can lose without regret cos on text I don’t bet
And if you dont bet then no debt is collected
Plus I see writing lyrics a formality almost perfected
So don’t you get it?… so fuck if im rejected
To interpret a defeat means you must have read it
So it seems to me Ive won, cos my words aint been neglected
