    Controversy over Alito???

The Supreme CourtsJustice Nominee Alito who is much more
conservative than Harriet Maiers who was just withdrawn is
being scrutinized over a case in which he ruled:

If a man's wife is going to have an abortion the father must
    be notified.

This is what they're objecting, too. Saying it's overstepping
it's boundaries and insulting women's rights.

    Personally, I think that's absurd. I think a man's WIFE, not his
girlfriend, not his fuckbuddy, SHOULD have to tell her husband
if she's going to kill one of their children before he/she is born.
It seems women are getting more than equal rights now... we're
so strung up on "not oppressing women" that they're getting
more rights that a normal citizen.

I mean if you're a male late on child support they'll hunt you
down like a dog and send you to prison. If you're a male seperated
from the child's mother she gets priority over where the child
stays. If you're a male you have NO SAY in whether or not
she has an abortion or even keeps the child so what the hell
is wrong with your WIFE... by law, your WIFE, telling you that
she's going to kill one of your children and you have no say in
the matter anyway. What's wrong with her by law being required
to tell you that a creation of yours that you have no rights' and
no connection to OTHER than money according to the law, is
going to be torn to pieces put back together and thrown in a waste
basket a few days from now??? What the hell is wrong with that???

^^^ wow... uhhh okay. That rational is laughable, lol... So
why should a doctor tell a person their cancer is spreading...
I mean they're going to die anyway. If you find out you have
AIDS why tell the people you slept with...

When did it become not important to do something
because... it's uhhh the right thing... that's what's
messed up with politics today. People don't do what
they think is right. They do what they think people
    will accept.

Insulting women's rights? What the fuck? That's the father's baby too. Throwing that into the mix is just rediculous. He helped make the baby and he deserves to choose if it dies or not.

First....not telling someone about having aids...is actually taking their life in your hands... its a slow form of murdering them basically.... has nothing to do with this situation....dont throw analogies in that have shit to do with the situation..... draggin in an emotional topic that has nothing to do with the current topic is ignorant....... its a weak way to have a discussion

Second......... How would u implement a law of this sort with out completely destroying the laws dealing with the rights to abortion... how would a wife prove she told her husband...and to whom... and if she couldnt prove it... ie the husband refuses to do anything to help her prove it.... what recourse would she have.... give it to the handz of a court system where delaying the case the husband could completely and effectively destroy the time frame in which a wife could have the abortion..... And if u plan in loop holes for the wife who can not prove it... what would be the use of the law in the first place......

And......last ......... I just like to say before u guys start talkin stupid shit about how would u feel if..........
M~M....my last drop here a few years back before I left was about my girl being pregnant.......... if u seen it......
and she ended up having an abortion without letting me know....... the day before we were talking about our future together and even discussing names.... then I didnt see her for a week ...... she told me she had a miscarraige and was in the hospital and was scared to let me know....... but then I came to find out a few dayz later she had an abortion and had planned on keeping it from me.......
At the time I wanted to rip her fuckin throat out.... and til this day I hate her.... but u know I still couldnt support a law like this

I didn't say make it a law though. Congress would have
to do that. What I'm saying is that the demos in congress
can not use that as a reason not to confirm Alito. And yes
I do believe that the father should have limited rights towards
a fetus. If you're going to be responsible for something you
    should have rights to it.

Your last paragraph has more about rights.......rights are controled by laws....Ie me mentioning laws.....also to address your last statement there.....I dont believe in the way the child support/custody system is set up either...because of the fact that men dont have control of bringing children into the world....

But to address using that as a reason to not confirm Alito...... it is an ignorant reason to not confirm him .... Democrats are gonna look for any reason not to confirm him because of him being a strong conservitive.....but some republicans were outraged at meyers for the simple fact they wanted a more right wing cons........ just because they wanted a fight with the Dems. on the matter......<---thats just as ignorant..... to nominate someone because u want to further divide the parties..... they both do and claim things that are ignorant

^^ true... I couldn't figure out why democrats
were celebrating Meyers withdrawing... I was thinking
"you do know that you just ensured somebody far far
right is going to be on the supreme court now..."

If it was a law, then the clinic would send the father a formal letter to inform him of the operation. The woman wouldn't have to prove anything. How does that overstep any kind of boundaries? The RIGHT to have an abortion?? it's not a RIGHT. it shouldnt even be a privilege.

and for the record... if anyone took my kid's life, I'd take theirs... no matter who they are.

i am in no shape or form leaning to the right, but i have to agree....

if my WIFE... (not girlfriend or mistress) was having an abortion i think she should HAVE to tell me.

Its not just HER child. Its OURS.

I think it's selfish on the part of the women's rights activists to say otherwise. It's male bashing basically.

I am a supporter of abortion though (in some cases...not all). But i'll be damned if my wife wants to abort our child and doesnt tell me... and does it... i would flip out. At least talk to me or something first, and tell me why.

thank you, for the dems to make this an issue is absurd.
They're reaching for anything they can find. I think abortion
should be much more rare than it is.
