Looking at some Event 8" monitors. I don't want to spend over $700 for a pair. I want something that I will be able to mix bass with. I guess I could go with a smaller pair and get a bass speaker too but I would much rather just get a set of monitors and call it a day. A friend of mine has the M-Audio BX8a monitors. They don't sound too bad.

Look into getting some wharfdales, or some events.
its not alot of great stuff to look at in that price range, but you'll get what you want conisdering your just starting out.

I'm not just starting out. I have had the Samsons for over 2 years and I am needing something better. I didn't realize the price was for each on those Events...damn. I will look at some warfdales. Do I need to bump up the price range to $1000+? What do you think about the BX8a M-Audios?

I've never used them but I've heard them... they sound fuckin crazy... and have the subwoofer so you can do alot more with mixing... it's the subwoofer that gets it sexy.

these I have never seen recommended on this site... and I've only heard about them from people who do alot of live recording... so I'm not sure... but they say they are worth it...

Yeah, I'm mixing bass with my AKG headphones now, it works ok. You can barely hear an 808 kick in my Samsons unless it has that midrange twerp to it.

For $920 you can get 2 event sp8's...the passive ones($324.97/ea)with the samson servo 600 amp($269.97).
