FL Studio: Sampling Your Own Sounds + Good Sounds

I need help with this task. I need some sounds that are good and people told me to use Edison from FL Studio 8 to sample and I can, but it comes out badly. HELP.

you just have to practice and pick out the sounds you like

its all practice and interest... there is no SPECIAL way of doing it ...

Word. I need to know how certain people do it, like people like XM make dope ass beats, and he's told me that he samples. But IDK how he does it.

Dude, you're not gonna get as good as XM without MUCH practice. Keep practicing, watch tutorials, read up about production, music theory, and mixing, and study other people's production techniques. There isn't a certain way, just do the things I said and producing will become much easier and you will get much better..

you can use edison or you can make your selection in edison and chop it up with fruity slicer to make each little part into a key on the piano roll

if it aint turnin out right when your choppin up shit in edison, then your not trimmin at the right spots....after a while, you get used to what shit looks like as a waveform....for instance, if your choppin something with drums in it, right at the beginning of whatever loop ya makin, your gonna see a darker, thicker spot than whats before and after that point...and thats where the kick drums hittin...which would be the perfect place to start your loop....then u need to count however many bars down the line by listenin....then u end the loop right before another kick drum....dunno if that made sense....its easier to do than to explain...but if u get what im sayin, then u should be able to figure it out fine...if theyre aint no drums to chop with, then u just need to play it by ear...make it loop while its playin, before u chop it, and youll hear exactly what youd have if u chopped it where its at..
