About LLL vs Gauntlet
The idea of 'who's best' or whatever is a misleading one.
If the LLL main season was way longer, and it didn't end up in playoffs, then you might wind up with a solid idea of who's the best, after a hell of a lot of weeks. For the most part who actually is the best remains mostly subjective and depends entirely on who is perceived to be the best by the heads in the league. Records show a lot over a short season in some respects, but in others they're misleading.
Like when you look at the ranks from the season, is that really the order of talent? I mean Spit's like 2-6 or something rofl. Don't get me wrong, to maintain an impressive record you either need to put in a lot of effort or get very lucky, but it doesn't mean people are being ranked according to their actual skill. You got to do fucking well to win the LLL, but it doesn't necessarily make you the best in that given season.
The same is true of the Gauntlet, but because of the mechanics, you have to come dope for a LOT of battles. You need a hell of a lot of consistency and stamina. Of course, the winner of the Gauntlet isn't necessarily the best head of the lot, but due to the nature of the tournament, attracting lots of talent from around the net and every respectable head on this site, you know that a) he's going to have to beat a lot of dope heads, and b) he's going to be dope himself.
Whether the best head wins either tourney is irrelevant. A bad head can't win either of them, not even close. And while a bad head might have a stretch in the LLL, there's no way they're making it past 3 weeks in the Gauntlet, really.
A bad dude can't win either tournament, but I reckon competition is stiffer across the Gauntlet as a whole, simply because of the amount of good people involved. Different beasts though, and saying which is better is kinda pointless really.

this fucking thread is sexy... no need to wonder who the best was... he lost first round to bartender my post was complete shit, but i didnt give a fuck i put in negative efforts lol
thank you. making gauntlet the better accomplishment of the two.
I mean I know you're saying they're two different things.. but seriously? lets think about this.. we were arguing about the skill level in leagues to begin with.. and you've basically said that the gauntlet holds the MOST skilled people.. we weren't saying there's bad/shitty writers in either league, of course there are.. but there's MORE dope heads competing in the gauntlet than the LLL making it a much harder to get, and more rewarding prize.

Word I do think the Gauntlet is the harder competition.
Yo, I'm figurig out rankings and will set battles shortly if Toke doesn't get on soon, but how should records be compared? Highest number of wins?
